Travelling to Martinique

                     How to get there

The most viable method of travel to Martinique would be flight. A cruise does not compare to the experience of staying on the island for an extended amount of time. One must possess a valid passport before visitation and it is recommended that one converts their currency to euros (EUR) beforehand as it is the official currency of the island. I have listed some flight information below.

A roundtrip from Atlanta, Georgia to Martinique tomorrow at 10:34am through delta airlines would cost $669. It is a cheaper and a faster flight than the alternatives.

                        Where to stay
When vacationing on an island known for its relaxation and peacefulness, it is important to find a place that has beauty and solitude for a good price. While a hotel might be some people's first thought, a beautiful large vacation house with plentiful amenities is better in my book. Here are some websites one can use to find such a place to rent.
  • Airbnb.com
  • Booking.com
  • Tripadviser.com
Here is a stunning vacation home in Pointe du Bout, Martinique listed on Booking.com for around $283 a night for two people. The house includes a hot tub, free Wi-Fi, infinity pool, access to health and wellness facilities, access to the library, housekeeping, and free breakfast. Here is the house below

The address of the vacation home is as follows,
Route du Fort d'Alet - Anse Mitan, 97229 Les Trois-Ilets, Martinique.

                 Where to go
There are many places on Martinique that a visitor can enjoy going to. Some popular destinations on the island are museums such as the volcanic geographic history museum Arrondissement of Saint-Pierre. Le Vauclin has beautiful beaches and is a popular destination for kitesurfing, hiking, and swimming. Le Vauclin is especially popular for its kitesurfing.

Fort-de-France is the most popular city in Martinique as well as its capital and is known for the La Savane park and the breathtaking views from Fort Saint Louis. The fort is the location of an active navy base despite it being over 300 years old.
                    What to do
A wide range of activities to participate in exist on the island. A person can enjoy the relaxing nature of the beaches while reclining in a beach chair or go on a hiking trip through the beautiful nature on Mount Pelee. For those seeking thrills, kitesurfing is popular on the island as well as Kayaking. Scuba diving on Martinique is also an activity that is common with many scuba diving companies operating there.  There are other activities one can partake in that are exclusive to the island of Martinique as well such as
  • Visiting the Saint Louis Cathedral
  • Eating authentic Martinique food
  • Viewing cultural festivals and carnivals
  • Visiting the Jardin de Balata botanical garden
             What's the cost
The total cost of the trip while reasonable, is not going to be cheap. The cost of the renting the vacation house for a week would be around $1,981 in addition to the $669 plane ticket to the island. Around $300 should also be added to the total cost to cover the cost of the activities one might participate in. around $300 in food money would realistically also be needed. By these estimations, it would cost a total of around $3,250 to visit the island of Martinique as of right now. In my opinion anything under $4,000 for an out of country vacation is not too bad.

Blog Reflection

I feel as if my blog meets most of the rubric criteria but I do believe that I could have optimized the format of my blog to be read more easily and grab attention effectively.  Making my blog to be more aesthetically pleasing is something I feel that I have slacked on due to my unfamiliarity with blogger.  One of the aspects of blog creation that causes me to stress is the idea that my content can be perfectly up to speed but if the delivery of the content isn’t optimized properly, it could cause me to lose points. I believe I’m putting my best efforts into these blog creations although I do have proclivities toward procrastination which can be incredibly frustrating.  I try to review my blog posts to make sure I didn’t make any big mistakes in relation to either the grammar of the content or the formation of the blog post. When it comes to being comfortable with others reading my writing, I don’t particularly care if others read my blogs and peer-review them. As this class is mostly
